Mountbellew Mart Sheep Sale on Saturday the 19th of February 2022

No cattle sale on Wednesday last the 16^th due to Storm Dudley. There will be the usual cattle sale on the Wednesday the 23^rd at 6pm.

There was a good turn out of sheep on last Saturday the 19^th of February, considering the bad morning due to the storm. There was no change in the prices of hoggets compared to last week. There was a good trade in stag ewes, similar to the previous week. Ewes and lambs were also a solid trade.

SAMPLE PRICES

Lambs

Eight ewe lambs, 45.1kg, €140.00. Twelve wither lambs, 51.5kg, €154.00. Ten wither lambs, 53kg, €154.00. Two ram lambs 46kg, €140.00. Four ram lambs, 38.5kg, €110.00. Six ewe lambs, 41.1kg, €130.00. Six ewe lambs, 41.1kg, €130.00. Eight wither lambs, 58.8kg, €154.00.

Stag ewes

Stag ewes were a solid trade.  Prices ranged from €90.00 to €174.00.

Ewes and Lambs

Two ewe hoggets and two lambs €270. Three 3^rd crop ewes and six lambs, good sheep, €290. One 3^rd crop ewe and single lamb, €200.

Sheep sales every Saturday at 10am in person and online with ‘marteye’.

Gates open at 8am.
